The Truth behind Relationships & Sexuality Education (NI)

On 28th June, 2023, Northern Ireland Secretary of State Chris Heaton-Harris announced victory for his relationship and sexuality education (RSE) plans for NI at Stormont's annual LGBT reception.

The Secretary of State opened proceedings at the annual LGBT reception at Stormont by announcing that his plans for UN-based compulsory sex education for NI had just been successfully voted through by MPs.

So what is the UN saying about sex education and where is RSE heading?

The United Nations issued a document "International Technical Guidance on Sexual Education". It is the official guideline for primary and secondary schools around the world. One of the stated goals of this document is described on page 16.

"It aims to equip children (ages 5-12) and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will empower them to: realize their health, well-being and dignity; develop respectful social and sexual relationships..."
